Hunting for wild game when rations were scarce. But also roasting that game on a campfire when they could risk one, laughing with her boys, passing around a pilfered bottle of wine. Yes, it was beautiful. But the war colours a lot of it for her, too. ]
Even the cities had parks, a bit of fresh air in all the hullaballoo. It's nice to know there are still a few here, too.
